The Huskies boy basketball team snapped a 26 game (13 year) losing streak to Ballard on Friday night, defeating the Bombers 53-44. The win is the Huskies 3rd consecutive and they improve to 4-5 overall and 4-3 in Raccoon River Conference play.
The Huskies used another great team effort to pull off the win on the road. Justin Henry (Jr.) led the way with 23 points, including 11-14 from the Free Throw line. Easton Darling (Fresh.) finished with 9 points, while Casey Kleemeier (Soph.) finished with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals.
The Husky bench continued to give great effort and contribute as well. Juniors Harrison Brockway, Carter Tryon, Andrew Nicholl, Ty Gilliland, and Jayden Carney all came in and made big plays for the Huskies.
Winterset has a quick turnaround as they head to undefeated (10-0) Van Meter on Saturday for a Varsity girl/boy double header against the Bulldogs.
