The Huskies returned to Mel Penrod Gymnasium on Friday night after a 3 game road trip to take on the conference leading Boone Toreadors.
Nothing went right for the Huskies in the 1st half and everything seemed to go right for Boone. The Huskies shot 14% from the field (3-22), including 0-6 from behind the 3 point line. Boone shot 65% from the field (13-20), including 7-10 from behind the arc. The Huskies trailed 40-14 at halftime.
Winterset outscored Boone by 10 points in the 2nd half, but the 1st half struggles were too much to overcome as Boone went on to win 68-52. Boone improves to 8-5 on the season and 6-2 in conference play. The Huskies drop to 4-7 overall and 4-4 in conference play.
Casey Kleemeier (Soph.) scored 16 points and Easton Darling (Fresh.) scored 12 points to lead the way for the Huskies.
