The Winterset Boys and Girls Cross Country teams ran strong at their home invitational on Tuesday, September 6th at Lakeview Country Club.  The meet included 19 teams from central and southwest Iowa.  Top finishers for the Huskies were Senior Sydney Kaufman as she finished first in the 12th grade girls division, followed by a 3rd place finish by Layken Gurwell.  Charles Howell finished in 10th place in the 12th grade boys division.  The 11th grade boys division saw 3 Huskies finish in the top 10- Tanner Johnson in 4th, Just Dalrymple in 6th, and Owen Thompson in 9th.  Riley Kaufman brought hom a 6th place finish in the 11th grade girls division.  Two Winterset runners also finished in the top 10 in the 10th grade boys division.  Jacob Wood placing 2nd and Luke Esser finishing in 8th place.  Caitlyn Fairchild finished 4th in the 10th grade girls division.   Daniel Howell took home 7th place in the 9th grade boys division.  The Running Huskies are back in action this Thursday at the Greene County Invitational at Spring Lake State Park.
