The girls cross country team placed 2nd in a field of 12 teams on Thursday, September 28th, at the Leon Fox Invitational held at Perry Country Club. Creston won the meet, topping the Lady Huskies by 23 points. Top runners for the girls were freshman Dakotah Wildin (5th place) with a time of 21:48, senior Riley Kaufman (11th place), sophomores Kiernan Blanchard (15th) and Lizzie Wangler (16th), sophomore Sophia Pastorino (26th), freshman Abby Benshoof (30th), and sophomore Megan Hiatt (47th).
The boys brought home a 5th place finish out of the field of 12 teams. Leading the way for the Huskies were junior Luke Esser (16th place) in a time of 18:16, sophomore Wynn Yeager (20th), senior Blake Ryerson (28th), sophomore Daniel Howell (35th), freshman Colton Seidler (54th), freshman Jackson Kimball (56th), and junior Preston Roger (58th).
The Running Huskies are back in action on Monday, October 2nd, at Norwalk.
