Varsity Head Coach

Josh Henry will begin his 9th season as head coach for the Huskies in 2022-2023.
Last season, the Huskies had an overall record of 20-6. The season was highlighted by winning their first Raccoon River Conference Championship in school history and advancing to the Class 3A State Tournament for the fourth time in school history. At state, the Huskies were the #4 seed and defeated the #5 seed Marion Wolves in the State Quarterfinals. The Huskies fell to the eventual State Champion DC-G Mustangs in the State Semifinal game. This was the second trip to the State Tournament under Henry's Direction. In 2018-2019 the Huskies advanced to the State Tournament for the first time in 32 years where they finished 3rd place in Class 3A.
The Huskies finished in a tie with Ballard for 1st place in the Raccoon River Conference with a record of 11-4. Winterset defeated the Bombers both times during the season, however.
In 8 seasons as head coach, Henry has led the Huskies to an overall record of 104-83 and 66-51 in Raccoon River Conference play.
Henry, a 2008 graduate of Winterset High School, spent the 2013-2014 season as an assistant coach under Andy Pickering before becoming the school's 5th head coach since 1987. Before coaching in Winterset, Henry spent one season as JV coach and varsity assistant coach at Iowa Christian Academy (ICA) in West Des Moines.
After graduating from Winterset, Henry continued his playing career at Iowa Central Community College in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. He played 2 seasons under Hall of Fame Coach Dennis Pilcher. Henry graduated from Iowa Central in May of 2010 and transferred to Grand View University to pursue his degree in Elementary Education and to continue playing basketball. Henry played 2 seasons for the Vikings under Head Coach Denis Schaefer before graduating from Grand View in December of 2012.
Henry will be in his 9th year teaching in the Winterset Community School District. He is a 7th grade Special Education Teacher at Winterset Junior High School. He and his wife have three kids, Parker, Kaylin and Mya. |

Varsity Assistant Coach
|
Corey Bradley will begin his 9th season on the boys basketball staff in 2022-2023. This will be his 2nd year as Varsity Assistant Coach. He was Freshman Coach for the Huskies from 2014-2021. He is also the Head Girls Track Coach.
Bradley was a multi-sport athlete at Iowa Falls High School where he played football, basketball, and track. He then was a 2014 graduate of UNI. While going to school in Cedar Falls, he had many coaching opportunities in the Cedar Falls School District. He coached 9th-grade boys basketball for 3 years, 7th & 8th-grade girls track for 3 years, Sophomore football for 1 year, and 8th-grade girls basketball for 1 year.
This will be Bradley's 9th year teaching in the Winterset Community School District. Bradley teaches 7th grade Math at the Junior High School. Corey and his wife Sarah have four kids, Cam, Corbyn, and Cayson, and Carsyn. |

Travis Nedved will begin his 17th year as the 7th-grade boys basketball coach in Winterset in 2020-2021. Previously he coached Junior High basketball at Manson NW Webster for 8 years. Coach Nedved is also the Head Baseball at Winterset High School.
A graduate of Garner Hayfield High School and baseball player at Wayne State College, Travis teaches Biology and Environmental Science at Winterset High School.
Travis is married to his wife Carrie, who also teaches in the Winterset School District. He has 2 children, Brooks and Nora.
